![]() Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA campaign number: 12v431000 (engine and engine cooling) which she linked to the failure. Ted russell Ford Lincoln (8551 kingston pike, knoxville, TN 37919) was also notified of the failure and the contact was informed that there were no recalls on the vehicle. Due to the failure, the contact towed the vehicle to an independent mechanic who confirmed that there was a coolant leak however, the mechanic was unable to determine the source of the leak. Upon restart of the vehicle, the vehicle hesitated to accelerate upon depressing the accelerator pedal. Upon inspection, the contact discovered that the vehicle was overheated and that there was no coolant in the reservoir. The contact stated that while driving 35 mph, the vehicle began to stall while a warning message to pull the vehicle over appeared on the instrument panel. My mechanic is able to see the freeze plug recall on other 2013 models of my car my but my certain VIN number is not able to be taken to the dealership and be fixed. If another person is having the same problem why is their car getting fixed but my VIN is getting skipped in all the recalls. ![]() So when this does fully fail and either catch fire or stall in traffic and kills my wife who do I sue? I have anther question that I am hoping to get answered also. This car is a fire hazard due to the freeze plugs in the engine now breaking loose and coolant leaking into the cylinders. This is a $3,000 + job that is not just an easy fix. Ford told us they will not fix it until the recall is issued by the national highway transportation safety administration. The car barely has 120,000 miles on it and we are the first and only owners. We get it pulled over and the coolant is just under the min. We can take it to the mechanic and he can top off all the fluids, about a week later the add coolant light comes back on and says to stop car immediately due to engine overheat. Driving the vehicle over the last 2 or 3 months the engine coolant seems to be disappearing rather fast.
